What this site is
MyShiftCalendar is a free shift-pattern calculator and 12-month calendar for people who work rotating shifts. You pick a pattern, pick your team or anchor date, and the calendar fills in every shift for the year — colour-coded, exportable, and ready to drop into your phone.
It supports the patterns workers actually use: 4-on-4-off, 2-2-3 Pitman / Panama, DuPont, Continental, 3-on-3-off, 4-on-2-off, EOWEO / Kelly, 9/80, and a custom builder for anything else. It works for NHS staff, factory workers, security officers, drivers, hospitality teams, and anyone else whose week isn't Monday-to-Friday.
Why we built it
Most "shift calendar" tools on the web are built for managers — rota planners, scheduling SaaS, workforce optimisation. The person working the shift, who just wants to know whether they're on nights next Tuesday or whether their best mate's wedding falls on a rest day, was an afterthought.
We built MyShiftCalendar for the person on the shift. No sign-up wall. No 30-day trial. No "request a demo" button. You land on the page, pick your pattern, and the calendar appears.
How we make money
The site is free to use. We cover hosting and development through two routes:
- Display advertising via Google AdSense. Ads are clearly distinguishable from content and never block the calculator. You can manage advertising cookies through the consent banner in the footer.
- Affiliate links to products that genuinely help shift workers (sleep aids, blackout curtains, ergonomic kit). These are always labelled "affiliate" and never influence which patterns or which advice we publish. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
We do not sell user data. We have no user data to sell — your shift settings live in your browser, not on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for the full position.

The site is built by Yew Hong Woo, a UK-based software developer with a background in financial-services software. The tooling, design, and pattern logic are bespoke. No off-the-shelf shift-calendar template was used. Pattern definitions are reviewed against published industry sources; if you spot one that doesn't match your real-world rota, please tell us — we maintain a list of variants and adjust the calculator when employer-specific differences become clear.
What we will not do
- Require you to sign up to see your calendar.
- Sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for any reason.
- Track you across the web for advertising without your explicit consent.
- Add a paywall to the core calculator. Future premium features, if they appear, will be additions — not subtractions.
- Recommend a product in editorial content because someone paid us. Affiliate placements are flagged and editorial recommendations are based on whether the product actually helps shift workers we hear from.
Editorial standards
Articles on this site that touch on health, fatigue, working time, or rest periods cite primary sources where claims need backing — typically the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the NHS, the UK Working Time Regulations 1998, the EU Working Time Directive 2003/88/EC, and peer-reviewed sleep research.
